Lunch and Learn

“Leadership is in great demand” is the common mantra tossed about. The real problem is the pit of mediocrity in which many leaders find themselves. This presentation will identify 7 solutions for climbing out of that pit, or avoiding it.
Dr. Rick L. Upchurch is the Associate Vice President of Regional Campuses at Belhaven University where he oversees the non-traditional academic functions at BU’s eight campus sites, and directly oversees the academic operations of the Jackson LeFleur campus for Adult and Graduate Studies.
He has presented at several national and regional conferences on topics related to leadership and higher education. Dr. Upchurch served two terms as president of ACCESS, a national Christian distance education association. He has designed and implemented systemic improvements wherever he has served, demonstrating not only a grasp of system process and leadership, but also the ability to work collaboratively to achieve improvement.
Rick has been married for 42 years and he and his wife, Mary Margaret, have three children and four grandchildren. Rick and Mary Margaret reside in Ridgeland, MS.
